# How Voice works

## Why

Everyone has a voice. Complaints and silence are noise. Electing a few people to speak filters out the many. Voice is liquid and issue-based - you step up when something matters to you.

## How

1. **Now** - Where are we now? (Baseline)
2. **Try this** - Fat-marker solution (keep it rough)
3. **If it works** - What would this look like? Specific observable behaviours
4. Crews and community upvote to build **signal**
5. Leaders decide on the pitch itself - **Quick Win**, **Shape Up**, or decline with a reason
6. **Impact Log** shows what changed beside the claimed behaviours

That is the shared **Pitch → Signal → Act → Impact** flow. The whole pipeline lives on one page: the Pitch hub has a tab per stage (Pitches, Quick Wins, Shape Up, Declined) and Impact sits beside them. The decision chooses what action follows; it does not decide whether staff or student pitches may appear.

The signal score combines unique upvotes, support across different Crews, and recency. It helps leaders notice broad, current support; it is not a popularity verdict.

## What

An async pitch hub for students and staff. Each pitch has an audience. Staff and leaders can pitch **Staff only** (the default — visible to staff and leaders, never to students) or open it to **Everyone**. Students always pitch to everyone. Everyone can see, support and critique the pitches their audience lets them see.

Parent access is a later phase and is not part of the current Voice demo.
